8 Playful Date Ideas
How many of you have been on one too many “dinner and a movie” dates? I’m pretty sure that everyone who is reading this probably thought of raising your hand. There’s no doubt that going to dinner and a movie is the most worn out date idea in the history of ever. Don’t get yourself in a dating rut! There are plenty of other fun date ideas that are just out there waiting for you to try. Any of these eight date options will allow the both of you to engage and get to know one another much better than sitting quietly in a dark theater.
1. Zip-lining – Now, you may want to make sure that your date isn’t deathly terrified of heights before taking them to a zip-lining park. If you’re both a little scared, why not conquer your fears together? It’s a great way to bond with each other while having a blast!
2. Fondue Restaurant – This is a much more interactive and fun alternative to your average dinner. These restaurants can be a little pricey so, if dinner is out of your budget, just go for dessert—that’s the best part anyways!
3. Hiking – Getting outdoors is a great way to spend time together. Go out on a nature hike and explore! Make sure to let your date know what the plans are so that they will show up in the appropriate attire. No one wants to hike in 5 inch heels.
4. Take a cooking class – Cooking for each other can be a lot of fun. Look up a local cooking class for both of you to attend and learn a new recipe or cooking techniques that you can use later!
5. Go to a winery, distillery or brewery – Whether you’re into wine, whiskey or beer, there are tons of spots where you can go to watch how your favorite beverage is made. This is much more exciting than watching a movie. Not to mention, the free taste testers are a definite bonus!
6. Watch the sun rise – Who says dates are only from 6-10 pm? Try out something completely different and go on an early morning date to watch the sun come up. Bringing along a couple breakfast pastries and a thermos of coffee makes for the perfect way to start the day.
7. Take a dancing class – You could do salsa, swing or classical ballroom dancing, there are so many types of dance to try out. Even if you’re the most uncoordinated of dancers, there are classes for everyone. Sign the both of you up for a fun dance class in your city. This is a great way to get a little closer to one another and is sure to bring some laughs.
8. Be the critic – Check out a local food or wine tasting. Many restaurants will have these kind of events before they actually open to the public. Keep your eye out for an event like this and jump on the opportunity. You can try out a great new food or wine together!
Here are eight fun and playful date ideas that are sure to be much more exciting for both of you. Several of these ideas would also be fun to take another couple with you for a double date! Trying something new will be exciting for each of you.
