Waxing at home

  • Get yourself a wax tin from the market and read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.
  • Wash the area you will be waxing off any dirt and oil residue. Make sure that there is no dirt or oil because it will not allow the wax to stick to the skin properly otherwise.
  • Pat the area absolutely dry with a towel or soft cloth.
  • Apply a bit of powder it will help absorb rest of the moisture off the skin
  • Make sure that hair growth is long enough to use wax. It should be of minimum 1/4th to 3/4th inch long.
  • Too Hot, Ouch! Before applying it on the main area, test a bit of it first on inside of your wrist to check the temperature. Make sure you do not burn yourself.
  • One of the main things to take care is to apply wax in direction of your hair growth. Take a few moments, identify the right direction and then apply wax over it.
  • Stick the strip on wax
  • Leave it for a few minutes to set
  • Apply a little pressure on it with your hand and sooth it out.
  • It’s the moment of truth, time to pull out your strip. Pull in the opposite direction of hair growth.
  • If you by chance leave a few hair on the area don’t keep going for it by applying wax on the area again and again, this will harm the skin. Don’t worry, we are not telling you to leave those hairs there, you can tweeze them.
  • After are done with waxing the whole area apply a mild moisturizer. Even baby oil will do.

Follow these tips and you will be just fine. But follow all the above mentioned steps carefully. While waxing at home is the most convenient way there are a few waxings like the eyebrow and especially, Brazilian waxing; you should never attempt to do at home.
