How to Decorate a Youngsters Room
Kids are blessing of God. A human soul and body, while being a kid, is going through a phase of many different evolution processes. The best upbringing requires adequate and progressing environment. Lot of research is going on psychological effects on kids with respect to the room environment they are getting. Also it has been concluded that there is a need of continuous environment evolution as the kid grows.
Designing a kid’s room has quite few features to look upon:
Walls:
By choosing a particular color scheme we can bring different effect on a kid’s mood and psychology. Red color raises room’s energy level and it can be a good choice when you want to stir up excitement. While blue color is considered calming, serene and relaxing. So considering your kid’s present behavior and activities you may decide a perfect color and then make a theme out of it to blend with that color scheme.
Furniture:
Kids are given usually a small room and it is important that the designing is done in a way that it accommodates all the kid may require. A bed, study table with a chair, rack for books, a cupboard for clothes, a place for keeping sports gear and shoes and electronic gadgets like a desktop computer and printer are necessary furniture to be place in a kid’s room. The designing should be done in a way that it can also accommodate changes in design and items for the coming years.
The best would be to place a bed in a corner rather than in the middle of the wall. This will ensure more space. Along with open side of the bed a study table can be placed which can be used both for studies and placing the computer.
Beds can have space below them so that can be made in a way that it has closed racks which can accommodate sports gear and shoes. On the wall with which the bed is placed a book shelf can be fixed so it remains within reach or the shelf can be fixed next to the study table for academic books to keep.
A cupboard can be made next to the entrance door. The whole wall can accommodate cupboards as kids grow quickly and they have a lot of stuff to keep.
Window:
It is important to keep the wall having the window open so that the outer view and sunlight is not hindered in any way. The window can be covered by blinds and curtains according to the color scheme and theme of the room design. Having a canvas print images fixed on the window wall can increase the beauty of the room design. Depending on kid’s interest the canvas print may have image of favorite comic actor or a football star.
Lighting:
The placement of light fixtures is very important for assuring ample light in the room. A table lamp according the theme maybe placed on the study table as well. For night reading a lamp by bed side will also sufficient to illuminate enough for the purpose of reading.
