Dandruff is a very common scalp condition which can be happened in any season but in winter your scalp get more dandruff because of dryness at scalp, improper shampooing, brushing and diet.

There are two main reasons which cause dandruff. First is dryness at scalp while another is excessive oil at scalp. Here are some of the other common causes of dandruff:

  • Irregular shampooing.
  • Stress.

 

How to get rid of dandruff

There are so many natural ways to get rid of dandruff and keep your scalp clean. I am listing here 10 easiest ways to get dandruff free clean scalp.

 

1. Hot Oil Therapy

It is one of the most effective treatments to control and prevent common dandruff caused by dryness. It reduces the dryness at your scalp and also clears the clogging at your scalp pours. Heat 2-3 table spoon olive oil and apply it at your scalp by cotton, rub it gently on your scalp to clear white flakes. After applying this on your scalp, take a towel and dip in hot water, squeeze water from the towel and then wrap this towel on your head. Keep it on your head for 4-5 minutes then repeat this for 4-5 times so that your scalp can absorb oil better.

 

Leave oil on your head overnight and next day morning apply lemon juice on your scalp and then wash it after half an hour. Do this once in a week to get dandruff free scalp.

 

2. Methi (Fenugreek) Seeds

Take one tablespoon methi seeds and grind it. Soak this grinded methi seeds in 2-3 cups cold water overnight. Next day, after washing your hair use this water for last rinse. It will help in reducing dandruff.

 

3. Neem Leaves

Take two handful of neem leaves and soak it in 4-5 cups of hot water for overnight. Next day, use this water to rinse your hair. It is very helpful in preventing dandruff, also washing hair with neem leaves relives from itching and any infections at scalp.

 

Also, you can make a paste of soaked neem leaves and apply this paste on scalp and then wash it after half an hour.

 

4. Henna Treatment

Weekly heena treatment is very useful not only to remove dandruff but also for general hair care.

 

Take 4 table spoon of coffee and lemon juice, 2 eggs, 1 tablespoon methi seed powder and tea water and mix it in henna to make a thick paste. Apply this paste on your hair and leave it for half an hour then wash it. If you don’t want to add egg, add more tea water to make paste.

 

5. Aspirin

No, don’t take me wrong, I am not suggesting the intake of aspirin to get rid of dandruff. Instead of ingesting the aspirin use it to wash your hair.

 

Take 2 tablets of aspirin and crush it to make powder. Add this powder in your regular shampoo and while shampooing leave it in your hair for 2-3 minutes and then rinse it off.

 

6. Amla and Tulsi

Make a paste of tulsi leaves, amla powder and yogurt by using water and apply this paste on scalp. Wash it off when it gets dry on your scalp.

 

7. Lemon and Curd

Take one cup curd and 5 tablespoon lemon juice and mix it well. Apply this mixer on your scalp and massage for few minutes and then wash after 20 minutes. Apply this twice in a week and you will find dandruff is gradually reducing.

 

8. Yogurt

Yogurt is also very useful to prevent dandruff. After washing your hair apply yogurt on your scalp and leave it for 15 minutes and then wash your hair again by using very little amount of shampoo.

 

9. Baby Oil

Use baby oil to massage your scalp and leave it for overnight. After massaging the scalp wrapping a towel around your head will be good. Next day, rinse your hair with good anti-dandruff shampoo.

 

10. Baking Soda

Last but not the least, baking soda is very well reputed dandruff remover. Instead of shampooing your hair take a full tablespoon baking soda and apply it on your scalp and hair and after a minute wash thoroughly with water. See the magic of baking soda, once you will start using your baking soda shampoo after two weeks your scalp will begin producing natural oils to keep your head moisturized and dandruff free.
