  • Sit for a long time and remain still – people find it difficult to sit at a place for a very long time, there is a tendency that people will become very restless in an attempt to do something rather than sitting still. So focus first on doing that, stay calm and be at a place without moving. Following this comes the ability to stay absolutely still. Now this is the tricky part, because staying still requires a physical exertion but with time and practice it comes naturally and that is when you know you have a better concentration span and an improved ability to meditate.
  • Praying is a must – concentration or even meditation requires a lot of devotion and power. Therefore, praying before concentration is a must and one should never for get to do that before they attempt to meditate.

I read it somewhere else in some blogs that its aroma helps you soothen your mind and uplift your mood. I have started lighting incense sticks (Well Cycle is my favourite brand) as a part of my routine meditation for better focus and concentration.
